Harper to Delay Confidence Vote

November 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Looking a bit stunned, the Prime Minister announced a few minutes ago that the confidence vote will be delayed until December 8.

Prime Minister Stephen is trying to buy time and stave off a possible defeat by opposition parties by announcing the government will delay any confidence votes on the controversial economic update for one week.

The vote will occur Dec. 8, Mr. Harper said in the foyer of the House of Commons Friday evening.

There is little question that the Prime Minister has made a serious tactical blunder, allowing his tendency towards pettiness and partisanship to overrule his better judgement. What will happen next week is now anybody’s guess.
